Payment Options

Dental Payment Options Shellharbour

You can pay at the clinic with cash, credit or debit card or EFTPOS, and eligible health fund claims can be made on the spot through HICAPS. If you would rather spread the cost, the clinic lists five payment providers: Afterpay, Zip, MediPay, Total Lifestyle Credit and SuperCare. They work in different ways, and each one decides for itself who it approves.

Preferred Provider Arrangements

Our Preferred Health Fund Providers

Shellharbour Dentists is a preferred provider for HCF, CBHS and Smile.com.au. We also have a HICAPS terminal, so eligible claims can be made at the clinic.

Your benefit and any out-of-pocket cost depend on your policy, level of cover, waiting periods and remaining annual limits. Please confirm your current cover with your health fund before treatment.

Before Your Visit

Check the cost before you agree

Before you agree to treatment, ask the clinic for the cost of your care in writing, what it includes and when payment is due. Payment is due at the time of service unless you arrange otherwise in advance.

A payment plan only changes how you pay. It does not change what treatment you need. You can pause, ask about another way to pay or decide not to go ahead.

Before You Apply

Three things to check

  1. 01

    Know the total

Ask what the total cost is, what it includes and whether it could change if your treatment changes.

  2. 02

    Know who decides

Each provider decides for itself whether to approve you. The clinic does not make credit decisions, and the ATO decides early super release applications.

  3. 03

    Know the extra charges

Fees, interest and late charges can add to the cost. Check them in the provider's own terms before you apply.

Visit the Clinic

Ask the clinic about payment

Shellharbour Dentists is at 7/9-25 Captain Cook Dr, Barrack Heights. Call (02) 4216 9911 or book online to ask which payment options you can use for your treatment.

Ask about cost and payment before you decide, and take the time you need.

Your Decision

How to compare your options

  1. 01

    Ask the clinic first

Start with the cost of your treatment and when payment is due. Then ask which payment options the clinic accepts for it.

  2. 02

    Read the provider's terms

Open the provider's own page, linked in the first question below. Check who can apply, what you pay in fees and interest, and what happens if you miss a payment.

  3. 03

    Take your time

You can pause, ask more questions or choose a different way to pay before you agree.

Planning Your Visit

Write your questions down

Before you come in, write down your questions, any amounts you have been given and the provider you are thinking about. Bring them with you so you can check each answer before you agree.

More FAQs

The five providers work in different ways. Afterpay splits a bill into four payments over about six weeks. Zip is a credit account, and some Zip products offer interest-free periods. MediPay and Total Lifestyle Credit are personal loans that you repay over months or years. SuperCare is not a lender. It helps you apply to the ATO to release some of your super early.

Each provider decides for itself whether to approve you, and the clinic does not make credit decisions. Read each provider's own page before you apply: Afterpay, Zip, MediPay, Total Lifestyle Credit and SuperCare.
